About Tamis
I am a fourth-year Math Specialist from the University of Toronto, I have studied high-level Mathematics and focus on the connection between Geometry and Algebra. I have been a Teaching Assistant for Calculus courses, Multivariable Calculus courses, Linear Algebra, and Linear Algebra 2 courses. I have been the head Teaching Assistant for Linear Algebra before. Within these roles, I plan a two-hour tutorial for around 30 people and provide/grade assessments. My personal goal is to continue research in mathematics, particularly in Algebraic Topology.

Mathematics is not a spectator sport, to learn mathematics one has to practice many problems and examples and ask why each step works. A good Mathematics teacher is one who connects abstract concepts to particular examples and explains the fundamental reasons why things work. When I teach, I introduce concepts, provide concrete examples, then explain how the examples connect to the abstract theory. I hope my students gain a complete picture of the subject they hope to learn.
