About Jonathan
I’m a dedicated math tutor with a PhD in mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and over 15 years of professional tutoring experience helping students at all levels achieve their mathematical goals. I specialize in helping students see the big picture so that they can stay a few steps ahead. With training, I hope to establish strong analytical skills that can be applied in any class.

I firmly believe that every student learns differently, so I incorporate that philosophy into my teaching practice by catering the tutoring experience to suit the student's needs and learning style. My approach focuses on addressing the students' immediate needs while establishing a foundation of deep understanding to build student confidence and autonomy. I do this by providing context through relevant examples so students can learn math in an engaging and relatable way. I’m committed to helping each student not only improve their math skills but also develop a lasting love for learning that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
I’m passionate about making mathematics approachable, no matter how challenging it may seem. My specialties are pre-calculus, single and multi-variable calculus, geometry, and linear algebra. I also have extensive experience with standardized test prep including SAT/ACT and AP tests.
