About Maya
Hi! I'm Maya, a passionate math and economics student at the University of Florida(GPA: 4.0 | SAT(1510) Math: 790). I specialize in tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students in math and SAT Prep!
What makes me different? I focus not just on improving grades — but on helping each student feel comfortable, heard, and capable. Whether your child is struggling, trying to stay ahead, or preparing for a big test, I’ll be there as a mentor and motivator, not just a tutor.
I love learning new and interesting ways to solve math problems and love working with kids as well! I am also tutoring as a Teach for America Fellow where I work with students from minority groups around America to contribute to a more equitable society when it comes to education!

When I tutor students, I start by understanding their learning style and adapting to what works best for them. I like to mix things up by using visuals and even fun games to break down tricky math problems. We’ll work through practice problems together, but you’ll also take the lead sometimes so you can really feel in control of the material. My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive space where mistakes are part of the learning process and confidence grows naturally!
Whether you're preparing for the SAT or looking to strengthen your understanding of math concepts from elementary to high school, I’m here to help. I know math can seem a little intimidating, but as someone who loves the subject, I'm super excited to help other kids build their confidence in class! Looking forward to tutoring :)
