About Serges
I am a recent math graduate from Mercy University, I have been tutoring math subjects at Mercy for 2 years now. Recently, I was a math teacher assistant for the MC3 summer math program for high school students. I understand how difficult and frustrating math can be at times, however, I can assure that with enough patience, and a more enthusiastic approach, it becomes a lot clearer and somewhat enjoyable. I always help my students build trust in their ability to succeed in math.

My motto is "Starting to ask why rather than how is the way to getting better at doing mathematics". I mostly try to focus more on the reasoning behind certain methods and explaining the meaning of each concept. To do so I start by giving real-life problems (if applicable) to which the concept to be taught would be the applicable solution. After shaping the idea behind the concept I can then teach how to use it, and give practical exercises related to the subject. I am open to help students of any level, from elementary school to college students. I would say I am a very patient individual, I understand that the abstract nature of mathematics can be challenging and sometimes frustrating. However, as a tutor, my role will not only be to make you better at the subject but also change your view on it.
