About Matias
As of 2026, I am a senior in high school dedicated to science and mathematics. I scored a 1510 on my SAT: 770 in math and 740 in reading. I have also received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, 5s on multiple AP exams, and the AP Capstone Diploma. I am also part of the math club and the engineering club at my school, where I am exposed to rigorous math and physics problems.
Although I am young, my passions in science and math have led me to numerous opportunities. For example, I have made a great name for myself in the active marine life restoration occurring in Miami, Florida, by designing an efficient and effective coral conservation method. Beyond my research, I have interned at AerSale, where I learned CAD modeling, and I attended a summer study abroad program in Toulouse, France, where I studied aerospace engineering.

My classes are in the best interest of high school students taking AP classes. However, I can also tutor students in various courses, such as honors or regular. My tutoring style is not based on my learning style, but rather on the learning style of my students. For example, if a student learns better through examples, I will provide them with examples rather than force them to learn in a way I do. The same can be said for a student who learns best with a systematic approach, a diagram approach, or any other approach. Typically, I would like to understand the material my student needs to learn and the way they learn best prior to our meeting in order to develop a lesson plan that fits them best.
