My method of teaching is to utilize the work the student has previously done and look at the specific areas of improvement for the student. Once the target areas are addressed we will work together to draft text that improves specifically on those areas. I have a unique educational background through the Quebec CEGEP system so I am familiar with high school, college, and university English courses. I also help the students design their own visual aids so they can progress beyond just the tutoring sessions.

I am also very flexible when it comes to scheduling, I offer in-person in the local area given public health guidelines, and webcam sessions.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed an interest in English literature and tutoring in my second year of CEGEP in applied science. Cegep is a two-year college that students from Quebec Canada go to after they graduate high school in grade 11. The college offered an elective tutoring course where students once completing the course became level one certified tutors. With many of my peers tutoring in math and science courses, I decided to tutor in the electives, and through that and my fourth-semester English course with an amazing professor found my passion for English literature.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

In my time studying the sciences, arts, and humanities, I have learned that there is much more overlap in topics and practices than many may think. In my last English course in CEGEP, I was inspired by my professor and his love for arts and sciences. With my own difficulties in my education career, I have learned that there needs to be more advocacy for students, and while I myself am currently in school, I hope that I can eventually have a voice for students with difficulties. I have a passion for students being able to find inspiration for learning.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I love the ability to find the specific difficulties with students in a more one-on-one setting. As I mentioned I have had my own difficulties with education and have learned that each person has their own way of working and I try through my tutoring to help students find their way. I also love that I can reach students anywhere and with a friendly approach I love the relationships that I can build with my students. What makes me a "Superprof" is how I am able to work with students of all ages and skill levels and help them find their confidence for the highest competence.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Many of my professors and teachers have inspired me in my life, like my fourth-semester CEGEP English professor, my thesis supervisor for my undergraduate thesis, my peers, my mentors, even many of my students. I find so much inspiration through my education and as a result value learning to the highest degree. These people inspired me because they have shown me that learning is not as black or white as I once thought and found my strengths in learning.
  • What are your keys to success?

My keys to success are to find what you love, find your people, and be aware of your end goals while you are working towards them. Sometimes when things get difficult people get lost in the near future and get worried about getting lost along the way.
