About Zak
Currently a Masters Student in Psychology specialising in addiction. I am educated in both the effects that substance abuse can have on an individuals independent learning, as well as supporting those who have family members or close friends suffering from substance abuse issues.
My background as a sports graduate and youth worker has provided me with both the educational and practical knowledge required to work with individuals of all ages. Alongside my psychological background and training in personcentred counselling, my goal is to provide a person centred friendly and empathetic environment for indiviudals to develop themselves.
My approach is to put the learner first and to adapt my behaviour to thier needs. I am extremely aware that living with a mental health condition and/or alongside someone that has mental health issues, can cause for learning to feel both stressful and challenging, even overwhelming at times. Together, we will work in a way that is best for you, overcoming the educational challenges you are currently facing at a pace in a style that is best for you.

I apply a person centred approach to learning, that focuses on strengthening the relationship between tutor and learner to ensure that the client feels safe and accepted throughout the learning process.
My teaching methodology itself is adaptable and my goal as a tutor will be to adapt my behaviour to fit the clients needs.
During our first session we will work out a long term plan on how to approach the learning process, putting together a shared plan that ensures that you as the learner are being heard and are able to work in a way that feels best for you.
