About Tristan
I am a passionate and dedicated pianist with a Master of Music in Performance (Distinction) from the Royal Northern College of Music. I have been working as a freelance soloist, accompanist, and organist since 2016, regularly collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists to a professional standard. This performance background allows me to bring real-world stage experience into my teaching, helping my students build both their technical skills and their performance confidence.

My approach to tutoring is built on the belief that strong technique and a genuine understanding of music are the foundations for great playing, whether you are preparing for exams or learning for personal enjoyment. I focus on building a solid technical foundation while developing musicality and expression. I tailor my methods to each student's goals, whether that means working through graded syllabus requirements (such as ABRSM or Trinity), refining performance techniques, or exploring new genres.
Whether you are a complete beginner looking to build confidence, an intermediate student aiming for your next grade, or an advanced player preparing for auditions or diplomas, I can tailor our sessions to help you reach your full potential. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals!
