About Isabel
I am a certified English language teacher (CELTA accredited) and spent a year in Seoul teaching English to ESL students to prepare them for the TESOL examination. I have previous experience in tutoring Higher (Scottish) students for their history exams.

I'm a University of Edinburgh graduate with a MA History (Hons) degree. I specialised in the Cuban Revolution for my dissertation and my research in other areas focused on Thatcher and 1980s Britain, South Asian history and international diplomatic history (e.g. Cold War diplomatic tactics). I am flexible to teaching students of all levels, whether at school or university. I can also help with essay writing which is my strong point!
My lessons focus on maintaining balanced perspectives and, when it comes to essay writing, having a strong, cohesive argument backed up with solid evidence. I aim to engage students with the subject while also following the relevant curriculum/exam preparation required for their level.
