My Approach to Tutoring

As a PhD student with a strong research background in science, I understand that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming when concepts aren't explained in a way that makes sense to you. My goal as a tutor is to make learning approachable, engaging, and enjoyable while helping students build confidence in their abilities.

I believe that every student can succeed when given the right support. Rather than focusing solely on memorization, I help students develop a genuine understanding of concepts so they can apply their knowledge independently and with confidence. I create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as these are important parts of the learning process.

Teaching Style and Methodology

I tailor every lesson to the individual student's needs, learning style, and goals. Whether a student needs help catching up, consolidating their understanding, or extending their knowledge, I adapt my approach to help them achieve their best.

My lessons typically include:

Clear, step-by-step explanations of key concepts
Interactive discussions and guided problem-solving
Practice activities to reinforce understanding
Strategies for improving study habits and confidence
Regular feedback to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement

For science, I focus on helping students understand the "why" behind concepts rather than simply memorizing facts. For primary mathematics, I build strong foundational skills and problem-solving confidence. For primary English, I support students in developing reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and communication skills.

Lesson Length

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can offer shorter sessions for younger learners or longer sessions when additional support is needed.

Qualifications and Experience

I hold a Master of Research degree and am currently undertaking a PhD, giving me extensive experience in scientific research, critical thinking, data analysis, and academic communication.

Through my academic journey, I have developed strong skills in explaining complex ideas clearly and adapting information to different levels of understanding. I am passionate about education and enjoy helping students build both knowledge and confidence in their learning.

Who My Lessons Are For

I offer tutoring for:

Primary Mathematics
Primary English
Science, with a particular focus on Biology

My lessons are suitable for primary school students as well as secondary students seeking support in biology and general science. Whether your goal is improving grades, preparing for assessments, strengthening foundational skills, or developing a greater confidence in learning, I will work with you to create lessons that support your individual needs and goals.

I am committed to helping students not only achieve academic success but also develop curiosity, confidence, and a positive attitude toward learning that will benefit them well into the future.
