About Niamh
I graduated from high school in Ireland in 2015, from there I studied a Bachelor of Arts in the University of Galway where I received a second class honors degree. I completed a Masters in Primary Education from Hibernia College, Dublin where I received a second class honors degree overall, and a first class honors in my teaching practice grades. Having completed my masters I began a year of teacher on call work where I gained valuable experience in a variety of classrooms and educational settings. I was able to refine my classroom management, time management and lesson planning skills during this time. I then relocated to Dublin City where I worked in a large urban co-educational school. Here I spent a year and a half working as part of the Grade 1 team as the mainstream class teacher before continuing my contract into the Grade 2 teacher. In January of 2023 I moved from Ireland to Vancouver to experience a different lifestyle and broaden my educational experience. I am currently working in special education with a focus on English language learning.
In my free time I love playing sports, hiking, skiing and running. I am energetic, kind, patient and fun.

I have experience working as a mainstream classroom teacher teaching students of all abilities and have successfully been able to differentiate for them and create lessons based on their needs/ interests. I completed my thesis on the various learning styles that one could have so I am acutely aware of how to identify a learning style and then plan a lesson based on that. More recently I have worked in special education and that has given me experience working with children with more complex learning needs. In the process I have become accustomed to tailoring and adapting lessons/ content based on the student I am working with.
