About Jumana
My name is Jumana-aka Silver Pearl (:
At 18, I was selected by the Head of Chemistry to tutor NCEA Level 2 Chemistry, and more recently worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Auckland. I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals because I have lived the journey myself. Arriving in Year 12 with limited English and little confidence but strong ambition, I went on to achieve top grades, earned multiple academic awards, and later graduated with First-Class Honors across two university degrees. That experience showed me how resilience, curiosity, and effective study strategies can turn challenges into success. I aim to empower pre-university students, build their confidence and equip them with the skills and mindset to pursue their ambitions, independently and collaboratively, despite life obstacles.
