About Harsh
My Journey: From Square One to 1250 Rapid
I didn't grow up with a private coach or a chess club in my backyard. I am a completely self-taught player who learned the game through trial, error, and a passion for the 10-minute Rapid format. After climbing the ranks to a 1250 rating, I’ve realized that you don't need a Grandmaster's brain to play great chess—you just need a solid foundation and a clear plan.

My Teaching Philosophy
I believe chess should be fun, not frustrating. As a self-taught player who climbed to a 1250 Rapid rating, I know exactly which concepts are "game-changers" for beginners and which ones just cause confusion. I don’t teach like a textbook; I teach like a player who has been in the trenches of online chess.
What We Will Focus On
My lessons are designed for players rated 100–900 or those just starting out. We will focus on the "Big Three" of improvement:
• The "Golden Rules" of Openings: How to get a playable position without memorizing 20 pages of theory.
• Tactical Vision: Learning to spot "hanging pieces" and basic forks, pins, and skewers that win games at the beginner level.
• Rapid Game Strategy: Specifically focusing on 10-minute games, including time management and staying calm under pressure.
Structure of a Typical Lesson
1. Game Analysis: We will look at one of your recent losses together. This is the fastest way to stop making the same mistakes.
2. Puzzle Solving: I’ll walk you through tactical puzzles to sharpen your "chess vision."
3. Live Practice: We can play a game where I "think out loud," explaining the logic behind every move so you can see the board through a 1200+ lens.
