About Barry
I have more than 15 years experience, directing, teaching and instructing, thousands of students from all backgrounds with various levels of learning. Many of my students have since entered into the music profession to become directors, composers and performers. I believe that everyone can learn the art of music, whether it becomes a casual, part-time hobby or something that consumes your passions. Everyone can learn something that can be absorbed and cherished.

I do not believe my job has been satisfactorily accomplished until the student has enough information and understanding to either embrace or fully reject the content. There is always a different approach to teaching a concept so that the student understands it. In the classroom, to reinforce a student's understanding, I would have that student teach another student the same concept. This is referred to as "Peer Tutoring". A very effective approach.
