About Lydia
I am a student currently completing my Master’s Degree in ‘Romantic and Victorian Literary Studies’ at Durham University and for which I am projected to achieve a Distinction Grade. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield with a high 2:1 (69%). I have previously taught pupils at a First Class Learning Centre which I thoroughly enjoyed as I witnessed the pupils grow in confidence and skill. I taught English, Maths and 11+. I was also an English prefect at Kesteven and Grantham Girl's School and as part of this I ran a Creative Writing club which allowed me to develop my teaching skills in order to make the activities both fun and educational.

I approach each student differently with my teaching method in order to best suit their needs. I am patient and will attempt to explain topics and concepts in a way which each particular student will best understand. I believe English is a subject that requires not only precision in spelling, punctuation and grammar but largely relies on imagination, passion and critical thinking which I aim to instil in every student I teach. I am extremely passionate about literature and hope my love of reading, writing and analysing literature will encourage my students to really engage with the subject.
