About Kurt
I am a filmmaker/screenwriter who has completed his graduate degree in screenwriting in Los Angeles. I have experience with industry professionals working on independent projects and have learned the core requirements for what people look for in a feature length screenplay.

The most important aspect of screenwriting I emphasize is that what we do is SUBJECTIVE. If you walk into a room of people with an idea, the chances are not everyone is going to think it is amazing, but some people will.
When I teach this course, you will never hear me say your idea is not worth pursuing. We will instead dig into it from conception, to treatment, to detailed outline and then finally when you feel comfortable to move forward, PAGES! The fun part as a writer!
This course works only if you are willing to give yourself to it. Be active in workshops. Share your notes, share your questions. Be a good note taker. Try not to defend your work. Not every note you receive will be a good one that makes it into your script, but the odds are if someone has given you a note on something, there might be an area in your story you need to look at again.
I am here to guide you and help you finish your first feature screenplay!

Details
First lesson is free and will aim to identify exactly what the student needs in terms of this course. Every course is tailored to the student individually.
If the student is just looking to brush up on industry formatting of screenplays, or needs refreshers on character studies, or scene studies or any topic pertaining to screenwriting in particular, they may book as needed.
If a student wants to do the advanced course, which will be 20 lessons including homework, the student can go from concept to a full industry standard screenplay which they will be able to pitch to potential investors. This is often the hardest step for first time writers, so it will be a detailed walk through including how to pitch your screenplay. The 20 lessons will be priced at £15/hr and can be paid at once for £300.
