About Dana
My teaching approach to piano is centered on building a compassionate, communicative, and creative environment where students feel supported, understood, and encouraged to explore their musical abilities. I believe that learning music should be enjoyable and meaningful, so I take the time to connect with each student and understand what inspires them. By fostering open communication and a positive atmosphere, I help students feel comfortable expressing themselves, asking questions, and developing their own unique relationship with the piano.
A strong foundation is at the heart of my teaching. I place great importance on music theory, technique, and ear training, as these skills allow students to play confidently and understand the deeper structure of the music they perform. Each lesson is thoughtfully tailored to a student’s personal goals—whether they want to master classical repertoire, play contemporary songs, or expand their improvisation skills. I incorporate sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and expressive playing so students grow into well-rounded musicians who can adapt to different styles with ease.
I guide students in developing routines that help them progress steadily while feeling proud of their improvement. My aim is not only to help them play piano pieces beautifully but also to nurture their creativity, confidence, and love for music. Ultimately, I want each student to carry their passion for piano throughout their life, using music as a source of joy, expression, and personal growth.

With over 8 years of teaching experience, I have had the joy of guiding 150–200 High School and College students in their piano journey. Throughout these years, I have worked with learners of all levels, helping them grow from early beginners into confident performers. I take great pride in seeing my students develop both skill and enthusiasm, and watching their progress has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my teaching career.
My teaching philosophy is built around creating a positive, engaging, and structured environment where students feel supported and motivated. I believe in making every lesson meaningful by tailoring my approach to each student’s goals and learning style. Whether a student wants to master classical pieces, strengthen their music theory knowledge, or explore composition, I design lessons that combine technique, creativity, and clear guidance. My aim is to keep students challenged while still ensuring they feel comfortable and inspired.
Over the years, many of my students have achieved excellent grades, performed confidently in recitals, and discovered a deep passion for music. I focus on building strong foundations in performance, theory, and musical expression, while also encouraging creativity and independent thinking. By promoting good practice habits and a love for learning, I strive to help students not only succeed in their piano studies but also carry their appreciation for music throughout their lives.
