About Colette
In my piano lessons, I guide each student like a storyteller guiding a hero through their journey—overcoming fears, building strength, and discovering their voice. Stage fear becomes less of a monster when we rehearse in low-pressure ways, learning to perform for joy rather than perfection. For hands that tense up, we explore daily finger workouts and flowing motions that feel natural and freeing. With six years of dedicated teaching and a Licentiate of Music in Piano (LMusA), my journey as a pianist has always been one of artistry and connection. I believe the piano is more than keys and notes—it's a storyteller’s voice, capable of painting entire worlds with sound. My teaching intertwines music with literature, imagery, and poetic meaning, guiding students to feel deeply and express fully.
Each piece becomes a landscape of mood, symbolism, and phrasing, where imagination meets technique. Whether it's the quiet tension in a Chopin nocturne or the radiant joy of a Debussy prelude, we uncover the emotions beneath the notes.
I cherish working with creative learners and sensitive souls—those who long to say something beautiful through their music. My approach is gentle, thoughtful, and rooted in artistic discovery. Together, we craft interpretations that speak personally and truthfully.
