About Samantha
I graduated with my MA from Columbia in 2021, and this past year worked as a full time, remote high school math teacher, with groups of 2 - 3 students at a time. During my undergraduate degree, I worked for 3 years as an economics teaching assistant, leading classes as well as one-on-one tutoring sessions. I will help you reach whatever level of math you desire, from passing your math class to getting into an Ivy League. I am passionate about making math accessible, and helping students use it to achieve their dreams.

My approach to teaching emphasizes mastery of foundational skills, arithmetic literacy, and transferring mathematical skills to practical applications. I will meet the student at their level, wherever that is, and work with them to advance their ability. I believe everybody can learn math to the highest level. My lessons are engaging activities that target specific areas of a branch of math. My students are generally in 9th to 11th grade, taking Algebra 1 or 2, Geometry, or Economics, but I am willing to work with any age and math level up to Calculus 2. This includes statistics, trigonometry, and test prep.
