About Mengte
Hello! My name is Mengte Zhu, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed in mathematics.
I hold a Master of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Dublin City University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Application. Throughout my studies, mathematics has been at the core of my academic journey, and I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills that I enjoy sharing with others.
I understand that many students find mathematics challenging or intimidating. My aim is to create a friendly, patient, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I believe that with clear explanations, consistent practice, and encouragement, every student can improve and develop confidence in their mathematical ability.
I enjoy teaching because it is rewarding to see students overcome difficulties, understand concepts that once seemed confusing, and achieve their academic goals. Whether you are looking to strengthen your foundation, improve your grades, or prepare for the Junior Cycle or Leaving Certificate examinations, I will work with you to develop a learning plan that suits your individual needs.

I believe that every student can improve in mathematics with the right guidance, clear explanations, and regular practice. My goal is to help students understand the concepts rather than simply memorise formulas, so they can approach problems with confidence and develop strong problem-solving skills.
My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, learning pace, and academic goals. I begin by identifying the topics they find most challenging, then explain concepts step by step using simple examples before moving on to exam-style questions. I also provide tips on effective study techniques, time management, and common mistakes to avoid, helping students prepare confidently for class tests and state examinations.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if required. Lessons are structured to include a review of previous material, explanation of new concepts, guided practice, and independent problem-solving to reinforce learning.
I hold a Master of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Dublin City University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Application. My engineering and computing background has given me a strong foundation in mathematics and analytical thinking, enabling me to explain mathematical ideas in a clear, logical, and practical way.
I offer mathematics tuition for primary school students, Junior Cycle students, and Leaving Certificate students.
