About Roanne
I have a Masters Degree in European Contemporary Fine Art | Practice and Theory, and a Post-Graduate in Painting from the traditional drawing and painting Academy, Edinburgh College of Art and have twenty-five years of experience tutoring children of all ages, students with special needs, adults individually and in groups.
I offer a solid foundation in the technical and traditional skills of drawing and painting, art history and theory, and encourage my students to explore the boundaries of visual arts, and expand and challenge their thinking in content, form, methods, and processes. I will tailor make a course, lesson or workshop to your specific needs and cater to beginners through to graduate level.

COURSE DEVELOPER AND LECTURER FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
Freelance Contract. Kunstrom 7 Trastad Samlinger | Sør-Troms Museum, Norway
Kunstrom 7 was a collaboration with Trastad Samlinger (Art-Cultural-Historical Museum) and Rå Videregåendeskole (College of Higher Education). We created an art college equivalent foundation course in visual arts for students with special needs; three young teenage girls with Downs Syndrome and an adolescent boy with severe autism. The course provided adapted training for the development of their skills in visual arts to prepare them for their future professional, artistic practice.

My remit was to give a solid foundation in the technical and traditional skills of drawing and painting, art history and theory, while encouraging the students to explore the boundaries of visual arts, expand and challenge their thinking in content, form, methods, and processes. I was fortunate to collaborate with artists, Film-makers and theoreticians from across the Nordic countries and Europe, who visited as guest tutors.

Parallel to practical development, we immerse ourselves in enjoyable and engaging history and theory of Modern art in the Western world from Impressionism and all the way to the Contemporary period of today. Lessons from these classes offer students a chance to examine these artistic movements and learn about techniques, materials and individual artists. Immerse yourself in easy-to-understand video lessons whenever it fits your schedule. I'm here to help you meet your academic goals or learn for pure enjoyment.
My courses can be tailor-made to suit your requirements and include classes for college students who want to refresh their art history knowledge, any student preparing for art history exams, teachers seeking alternative instructional materials for art and art history classes, and lifelong learners on flexible schedules.
