About Aubrey
My lessons create a dynamic and discovery-based learning experience where maths feels active, meaningful, and fun. Each concept is explored through hands-on ideas rather than memorised steps. I’m a Maths tutor with over 7 years of experience and an MSc in Computational Mathematics. I love helping non-STEM majors realise that advanced maths isn’t something to fear. My approach is holistic, focusing on clear concepts and real meaning rather than long, complicated calculations. I believe understanding the idea behind a problem is far more important than rushing to the answer. In my lessons, I use simple everyday analogies to make abstract ideas feel familiar. I also bring in historical stories that show how mathematical thinking has shaped art, science, and human progress. Highlighting the big ideas behind complex theories helps students see the structure and beauty of mathematics. This makes learning feel more natural and less overwhelming. I’ve worked closely with liberal arts students, humanities scholars, and many learners who carry past maths anxiety. Together, we slowly rebuild confidence through patient explanation and gentle exploration. I create a space where every question matters and every step of progress is valued. To me, maths is a universal language that touches every part of life. My goal is to help students discover that connection and feel empowered by it. With support and encouragement, you can build real confidence and see maths not as a barrier, but as a tool that enriches how you understand the world.
