About Michael
"The scratching of a pencil against a notepad often precedes the best hooks I have written in 4 years of teaching. Making music is my primary pursuit, and I find joy in the moment an idea becomes a finished song. I hold a Bachelor of Music from the Australian Institute of Music.
My approach is hands-on and focused on practical results. I specialize in imagery and detail in lyrics.
Co-writing and collaboration are central to my method. Title and concept development help guide my students.
I teach chord progressions and how to write to a brief. Editing and rewriting are the final steps I emphasize. You will walk away ready to turn your spark into a record."

My training at the Australian Institute of Music informs every technical decision we make during our time together. We focus on the craft of songwriting through consistent output.
You might bring a rough idea that we expand into a full arrangement. 4 years of teaching have taught me how to highlight your unique voice.
We analyze current trends to keep your sound fresh and relevant. The goal is to finish songs that you are genuinely proud to release. I provide the tools to navigate the creative process from start to finish. We can look at your current projects whenever you are ready to start."
