About Lucy
- What kind of experience do you have? I have over 15 years of acting experience working in the TV, film and theatre industry including London's West End and on national and international tours. I have been an original cast member for many West End productions including the RSC's Matilda and Viva Forever! I have worked for the BBC and ITV in many TV productions. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? I have an up-to-date DBS certificate - Tell me about some of your current students. I have a 10-year-old student who is taking her Musical Theatre exam in January. We picked her pieces together and we have worked weekly one to one on her voice and note learning, the choreography, the presentation and her confidence. She will pass with flying colours I am sure just like her previous exams! I have a 24-year-old student who wanted to audition for drama school. With my knowledge of drama schools and what they offer, I was able to advise him on where to apply to begin with. After many one to one sessions including picking the appropriate speeches for him, he auditioned for a handful of leading drama schools with the confidence and knowledge that I had taught him what to expect and he went in with great confidence in the work he had done on his audition pieces. I am happy to announce that he has just been accepted onto the MA acting course at London's East 15!

Hello, my name is Lucy Thatcher and I have recently moved up from London to live in wonderful Cheshire. In London, I worked as an actor in the West End performing in some of the most successful shows including the RSC's Matilda and many more. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach acting and singing to all ages and abilities. I can teach you all you need to know if performing is something you wish to do as a career, or, if performing is something you enjoy simply as a hobby. Either way, the classes are fun, engaging and inspiring. I teach preparation for LAMDA acting exams and LCM singing exams. I coach and prepare for students wishing to audition for drama schools and I also coach actors auditioning for professional work. - Tell me about your qualifications. I trained at The Arts Educational School and graduated with a BA Honours degree in Musical Theatre. During my 1-year residence with the RSC, we had subsequent acting training with the company. I was selected for private singing coaching with London's leading vocal coach - Mark Maylan. - How much do you charge? £17.50 - 30 mins lesson £35 - 60 mins lesson Group booking - please enquire - Where do you teach? I teach from home in CH1. - When are you available? I am available 7 days a week from 9am - 9pm - Which ages and levels do you teach? I booked a lesson with Lucy to prepare for an upcoming audition. It has been years since I’d sang and I was really apprehensive. Right from the start Lucy made me feel at ease. When we worked on the audition song she gave me tips and visual aids that were invaluable. Her years of expertise and knowledge were evident and I came out after an hour happy and full of confidence. I went on to get the part and am looking forward to working more with Lucy! If like me you’re needing a boost for an upcoming audition or just want to sing for fun you’re in very safe hands with Lucy! I feel very lucky to have found her, would highly recommend.
