About Josha
I’m a dedicated tutor with a unique approach - combining a strong academic background with a unique, interpersonal approach.
My priority is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand the challenge of working through demanding materials. It hasn’t been long since I completed my GCSEs and A Levels, so I’m well-versed in the curriculum and exam tricks & techniques. Having been taught by an ex-examiner for A Levels, I’m able to create lessons that aren’t just a carbon-copy of those which students already receive in school. I listen carefully, constantly adapting my teaching style to each student’s pace and goals.
Currently at LSE studying Economics and Philosophy, I’ve taken on leadership roles as President of a society, Team Captain of LSE Swimming, and lead actor in a couple of university drama productions. I truly enjoy connecting with such a diverse range of people, and helping them achieve their goals.
Whether you’re aiming for top marks, or looking to strengthen your foundations, I’ll work with you to make sure lessons are both productive and impactful.

I offer tailored tutoring in both Maths & Further Maths for GCSE, A Level, or equivalent qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 4 A*s and 10 9s at School. - Achieved top A*s in Maths and Further Maths A-Level, including 100% in Maths Paper 3 and 94% overall.
- Currently studying at LSE, with 94% in both Maths and Statistics papers.
- Former Head Boy at Reading School, where I volunteered as a Maths tutor for fellow A-Level students.
- Currently also working as a chess coach in primary school after-school clubs.
LESSONS:
- Typically 60 minutes, as this balances focus and content covered, though longer sessions are available if preferred.
- Each lesson begins with a short recap to check understanding, followed by targeted teaching and practice.
- Sessions end with a review and goal-setting, often with suggested homework to reinforce learning.
MY APPROACH:
- No two lesson plans are the same for different students.
- Experience teaching ages 5–18 means I can adjust my style to suit each learner, ensuring time is used effectively.
- For more advanced students, I can provide support with STEP, TMUA, and MAT-style problems to stretch A-Level knowledge and build exam confidence.
