About Brittany
In my eleven years of teaching English, I was reminded that it isn't everyone's favorite subject. Often times because it can be a complicated subject and not as absolute as math - 2 + 2 will always equal 4 but the Bard can be portraying many different things in one sentence. English is subjective but I've created ways for my students to enjoy the written word.

English shouldn't be boring - it is the basis of all things entertainment we love today.
Think about your favorite TV show or movie, the story, had to be created somewhere.
My approach to tutoring is to make things relevant. We are more likely to understand things and want to learn if we have an interest in the context of the lesson.
My lessons will be based in modern day examples with some classics thrown in (so we can make sure we can understand those too). For example, we might interpret song lyrics of popular songs (poetry comprehension) and finish the lesson by using those skills to comprehend poetry that is assigned traditionally.
