About Megan
I am a math expert after earning a bachelor's degree at UAlbany in Actuarial and Mathematical Sciences. I currently am earning a master's degree in Adolescent Math Education. I have tutored peers throughout high school and college and I have recently tutored 11th graders in Algebra 2.

I like to start each session by asking students what math concepts are causing them frustrations. I would then go through a problem with them that relates to the topic they struggle with and pinpoint what part the students don't understand. Through a few more examples and my assistance, the students will practice challenging problems and then EXPLAIN to me or a peer how they arrived at that answer. Once the student is able to explain the process to solve a problem, the student has proven their understanding of the content. If their understanding is still developing, then I would repeat the process of pinpointing the confusion and practicing until the material is understood. We learn by making mistakes and that's OK!
