About Shauntise
Hi, I’m Shauntise. I’m passionate about helping artists of all levels discover their unique creative voice. I have a BFA in Painting, with a strong focus on oil painting, figure painting, portraiture, and abstract work. My love for art is matched by my commitment to teaching others how to develop their skills, whether they're working toward a portfolio for college, preparing for AP Art exams, or simply wanting to grow as artists.

My Approach to Art Tutoring:
As a tutor, my goal is not just to teach techniques, but to help you find your own artistic voice and approach. I believe that art is both a skill and a form of self-expression, so I create a space where students feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and ultimately growing as artists.

Hands-On Experience: I believe in learning through doing. We’ll spend plenty of time practicing your craft, whether it's mastering brushstrokes in oil painting or perfecting shading techniques in charcoal. I’m there with you every step of the way to provide feedback and advice.
Breaking Down Concepts: I break down complex artistic principles—like color theory, perspective, and composition—into digestible lessons. This ensures that foundational skills are built before moving on to more advanced topics.
Exploration & Creativity: While I emphasize technical skill, I also encourage students to experiment and push boundaries. Whether it's trying out new materials, exploring abstract concepts, or testing out new painting techniques, I want my students to feel empowered to discover their artistic style.
