About Nella
I have over 9 years of experience teaching guitar, supported by a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on guitar. My passion is helping students express their emotions through music while building a strong technical foundation. I believe that playing guitar is not just about notes and chords, but about telling a story with your instrument. Technique, theory, and practical fluency across the fretboard are all key parts of my teaching. I guide students step-by-step to develop these skills, making sure they feel confident and comfortable. We explore different styles to keep learning exciting and well-rounded. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, I tailor lessons to fit your goals and pace. I focus on creating a supportive environment where mistakes are part of the journey. My lessons include exercises that improve finger strength, timing, and improvisation. I also emphasise music theory to help students understand what they’re playing. Most importantly, I encourage emotional connection and creativity in every lesson. Together, we work on turning practice into meaningful musical expression. Learning guitar should be fun and rewarding, and I’m here to help you enjoy every step. My teaching approach to guitar focuses on building strong foundations with clear, easy-to-follow methods. I start with ergonomic techniques to make sure playing is comfortable and healthy. We work on open chords and power chords to cover many styles quickly. Finger dexterity exercises help improve speed and accuracy. Ear training is part of every lesson, so students learn to recognise notes and chords by sound. I also teach theory, including Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature, to help students understand how music works. For fingerstyle enthusiasts, I provide specialised techniques to develop their unique style. Worship leaders receive guidance on playing smoothly and confidently for their groups. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals and skill level. My method balances practice, theory, and creativity. I encourage regular practice and give clear feedback to help students improve. Supporting every learner’s progress is important, whether they are beginners or advanced players. The goal is to help students play with passion and skill. Together, we make learning guitar enjoyable and rewarding.
