About Zoe
I'm a qualified secondary English teacher with a first-class degree in English from the University of Sussex, a PGCE in Secondary English, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an Enhanced DBS certificate.
I have experience teaching GCSE English in a state school, where I particularly enjoyed helping students who lacked confidence discover that they were capable of achieving more than they expected. Seeing students develop both their skills and self-belief has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching career.
Although I'm new to one-to-one online tutoring, I bring the same professionalism, subject knowledge and personalised approach that I developed in the classroom. As I return to university to study Educational Psychology, I'm taking on a small number of students so I can continue doing what I enjoy most: helping young people build confidence and succeed in English.

I offer personalised one-to-one online tuition for students studying AQA GCSE English Language and Literature, with lessons tailored to each student's individual strengths and areas for development. My teaching is calm, encouraging and structured, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence.
I specialise in supporting students working at Grades 3-5, helping them develop the core reading and writing skills needed to achieve a secure pass and beyond. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can be booked weekly or fortnightly. Every lesson is designed around the student's needs, whether that's improving exam technique, analysing texts, developing writing skills or building confidence.
As a qualified secondary English teacher, I bring classroom experience and a strong understanding of the AQA GCSE specification, enabling me to adapt my teaching to help each student make meaningful progress.
