About Megumi
I am a London-based violin teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in both private and school settings. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Japan and a Master’s degree from the Royal Academy of Music, London, completed with Distinction. I teach students of all levels, from young beginners to aspiring professionals, focusing on building solid technique, confidence, and a love for music. As a mother, I understand children’s learning pace and communicate closely with parents to ensure lessons are effective and enjoyable. I mainly offer online lessons, but in-home lessons are also available.

My violin lessons are carefully structured to suit each student’s level, goals, and learning style. For beginners and young children, I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, bow control, and good practice habits in a calm and encouraging environment. For more experienced students, lessons include technical refinement, musical interpretation, and effective practice strategies. I mainly teach online, with clear guidance to ensure lessons are engaging and productive, and I also offer in-home lessons when students are able to travel to my home.
