About Alfie
Hi! I’m Alfie and I hold a Distinction in LLM International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation Law from the University of Warwick. I have a First Class LLB Law degree from the same institution. Currently, I am in the process of drafting a PhD thesis and have recently published an article in the Cambridge Law Review, which contributes to discourse on international commercial arbitration. I remember doing my GCSEs and A Levels thinking how helpful it would be to have someone from a similar background that could help me. Indeed, it is a very nerve-wracking experience on the run up to exams, but I hope to give you the guidance and support you need to ACE the exams! Having monitored the learning of students from underachieving schools, I know that each and every one of my tutees has the potential to get some top grades. Typically, it’s not so much a lack of knowledge that leads to poor performance, but rather it’s not knowing how to use that knowledge effectively. This is exactly what we’ll work on during our sessions together. I am able to assist both UG and PG students. We can discuss what a first class essay looks like, and how to tackle the research and writing phase of any essay.

This will be my fifth year of tutoring and I thoroughly enjoy helping my tutees. Over the years, I have developed and refined my approach to tutoring, finding that my tutees benefit from my progress plans and trackers. I think this method allows both my tutee and myself to monitor their progress in a visual manner; they can reassure themselves of the progress made. Everything from exam technique to writing style will be discussed in my sessions because sometimes students fail to recognise that their writing style plays a massive role in the success of their works. My sessions will target the requisite skills, whilst framing memorable mnemonics/phrases/etc to help with their retrieval ability come exam time.
