About Josiah
I’m Josiah, a dedicated and approachable tutor with a background in medicine and a passion for helping students succeed. I studied at Liverpool Medical School and am about to begin a Master of Arts and Sciences at the London Interdisciplinary School, where I’ll be focusing on real-world problem solving through interdisciplinary thinking. I’ve been tutoring since college, supporting GCSE and A level students in Maths, Biology and Chemistry, both online and in person. I take pride in creating a calm, focused learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My teaching style is rigorous but flexible, always tailored to the student’s individual needs, goals and exam board. I’m committed to professionalism, clear communication and consistent progress. I offer GCSE and A level tutoring in Maths, Biology and Chemistry, with a strong focus on building understanding, confidence and exam performance. I graduated from Liverpool Medical School and will soon begin a Master of Arts and Sciences in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods at the London Interdisciplinary School, bringing a broad and rigorous academic background to my teaching. My lessons are highly structured and personalised. I work closely with students to break down each exam board specification, using a red-amber-green system to track confidence in every topic. From there, we prioritise weaker areas with short, focused lessons and lots of practice questions. We work through exam-style problems together, gradually building up confidence until every topic is secure. As exams approach, I set full past papers to strengthen exam technique and time management—skills that are just as important as subject knowledge. I share detailed notes after every lesson and hold a short progress meeting with parents every five sessions to keep everyone informed and involved. Lessons typically last one hour and are ideal for students aged 14–18 who are working towards GCSEs or A levels in Maths or the Sciences.
