About Nicola
I am an experienced English teacher who spent 6 years living and teaching in China. During that time I specialised in helping Chinese learners improve their phonetics pronunciation and speaking confidence. I used the common challenges students face when learning English and focus on building strong foundations early so they can communicate clearly and naturally.
My teaching style is friendly, patient and tailored to each student. Whether your goal is to improve everyday speaking, or prepare for study abroad, I create lessons that are practical, engaging and focused on real progress.
I am passionate about helping students feel confident using English, not just learning it.

I will assess each student's pronunciation and identify any phonetic weaknesses, the lessons will then be built around these gaps rather than following a generic textbook.
Lessons can be as long or as short as required. Some students benefit from short lessons that they can go away and practise, others require longer sessions where we can go into more depth.
Whilst working in Beijing my students ranged from 3-16, for the younger learners we focus on phonetics, how words sound and how to build up short sentences. Older students would focus on tenses, pronunciation and how to make conversations flow.
