Tutoring Approach
I offer fun, patient and personalised tutoring for Grade R–3 learners. My lessons focus on reading, phonics, maths, languages and homework support. I teach in English and Afrikaans, using simple explanations, activities and repetition to build understanding, confidence and a love for learning.

# My Tutoring Approach
I believe that every child learns differently, and my approach is to make learning enjoyable, encouraging, and easy to understand. As a BEd Foundation Phase student, I have a strong interest in helping young learners build a solid foundation in literacy, numeracy, communication, and confidence.
My lessons are learner-centred and adapted to each child's individual needs, learning pace, and level. I use simple explanations, practical examples, questions, repetition, activities, and age-appropriate learning materials to help learners understand concepts rather than simply memorising them. I am patient and encouraging, and I create a comfortable environment where children feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes while learning.
What makes my approach unique is that I focus not only on completing schoolwork, but also on helping learners develop confidence and a positive attitude towards learning. I aim to turn challenging topics into activities that are fun, interactive, and easier for the learner to remember.
# Languages
I am proficient in **English and Afrikaans** and can provide tutoring and explanations in these languages. I can also support learners with basic language development and vocabulary.
# What to Expect From a Lesson
A typical lesson begins with a short conversation or activity to understand what the learner already knows. We then work on the main topic of the day using activities suited to the learner's age and ability. Depending on the learner's needs, lessons may include:
• Reading and comprehension
• Phonics and letter sounds
• Spelling and vocabulary
• Early writing skills
• Mathematics and number concepts
• Homework assistance
• Revision and preparation for assessments
• Educational games and activities
• Additional support with challenging schoolwork
At the end of the lesson, I review what we have covered and identify areas that may need additional practice.
# Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are mainly aimed at **Grade R to Grade 3 learners**, including children who need additional academic support, help with homework, extra practice, or assistance building confidence in their school subjects.
Whether your child needs help catching up, reinforcing classroom learning, preparing for an assessment, or simply developing stronger learning habits, I aim to provide patient, personalised support that meets them where they are.
