About Leo
Hi, I’m Leo — a literacy coordinator and STEM communicator with experience helping students build reading confidence and fluency through structured, science-grounded strategies. I currently work in a secondary school literacy program, where I coordinate small-group reading sessions, deliver phonics-based interventions, and partner with teachers and inclusion staff to support students with diverse learning needs.
I’ve also supported primary-aged readers as an education support worker, helping them access curriculum content and feel more confident as learners. My approach is gentle, warm, practical, and strengths-based — I use methods like repeated reading, comprehension building, phonics instruction, and positive reinforcement, all tailored to each student’s pace and learning style. Whether a student is a new reader or struggling with reading stamina or comprehension, I aim to help them feel capable and encouraged.

Targeted To: Parents of younger readers, especially those seeking science-based, or fiction and non-fiction, phonics-based and neurodiverse based support.
Lesson Summary: I support students in Years 1–10 who are developing reading fluency and decoding skills, including neurodiverse learners. Typical sessions run for 45–60 minutes, with flexibility based on student needs.
Sessions use phonics, repeated reading, science-informed literacy, and confidence-building strategies, and run for up to an hour. Lessons are constructive, structured, and adapted, to each learner’s pace and needs.
