About I
A recent BFA grad in Art and Literary Studies, I have a passion for writing and editing. Communication holds the world together, and I am excited to help students of all ages find their voice and refine their skills.
I have worked as a Beta reader for a wide range of books: including poetry and prose literary anthologies, children's picture books, poetry chapbooks, middle-grade novels, and YA novels (one of which was published by Little, Brown and Company one of the big 5 publishers in the U.S.).
I have worked as Managing Editor for award-winning student literary magazines. And I have been on the editing and marketing staff for a national literary magazine that reviews international submissions.
I have worked as a writing tutor in a variety of settings. I have given in-person one-on-one lessons, reviewed students' work asynchronously and provided complete reports with comments, and I have taught group lessons as part of a creative writing summer camp.
Together, these experiences have prepared me to help students of any age with any writing project. I am direct in my advice, but always kind.
I find that sometimes just getting that first sentence down in the hardest part. As a writing tutor, I'm here to figure out what you need to get started, and once started, what you need to keep going.
In the end, you'll have a polished final draft, new confidence in your writing skills, and, hopefully, a sense that writing can be fun!

Each of us has our own unique voice to share with the world. It's my job as a tutor to help you find yours through writing. Whether its for a 7th grade research paper, a college admissions essay, or a personal creative project, I am ready to work with you through the entirety of the writing process.
For this lesson, I offer four options.
1.) I will meet with you virtually to review, discuss, and edit an existing piece of writing.
2.) I will review your writing independently and send an asynchronous report with comments.
3.) For a writing project you have not yet started, I will meet with you virtually to work through the whole writing process (Brainstorm/gathering ideas, thesis statement/main argument construction, outlining, drafting, editing/revising, etc.).
These written assignments can be academic in nature (research paper, literary analysis, IB or AP essays, college these. But I will also work with through business and practical writing projects: resumes, cover letters, email correspondence, etc. Further, I would be more than happy to help with creative writing. Bring me your poetry and short fiction and I will assist you in refining both your language and ideas.)
4.) If you are interested in honing your writing skills, but don't have a specific project/assignment you need help with, I will meet with you virtually to give you writing assignments we can work through together. For this option, I will adjust the assignments I offer based on the type of writing skills you are interested in cultivating. So, if it's academic writing skills you are interested in, I'll create a mock research assignment. If its speech writing, I'll create a faux presentation scenario. Need a resume? We can work through that process too. Or, if you simply are interested in writing something creative (a personal essay, poem, short story), I am here to help you level up your writing.
