About Darcy

Despite having a high reading age as a child, I had a multitude of learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and ADHD that came with a range of challenges that often discouraged me. Now I am beginning a degree in English Literature at Exeter University in September, so I am passionate about preventing students who felt like me from getting discouraged. English is such a broad subject and I want to enable my students to find enough confidence within themselves to tackle new challenges.

About the lesson

I can tailor lessons to anything you are currently needing support with, my specialities are Poetry, Essay Writing, Comparative Literature and Creative Writing. However if there are more niche topics, I am happy to go and research prior to our sessions and apply my knowledge to the problem you are encountering!

Darcy creates a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence. She takes the time to understand each learner’s individual needs and adapts her approach accordingly, whether that’s helping with essay writing, analysing texts, improving grammar, or preparing for exams.

Having recently been through the education system herself, Darcy understands the pressures students face and can relate to their experiences. Her enthusiasm, reliability, and positive attitude make her an excellent tutor for students looking to improve their English skills and achieve their academic goals.
