About Molly
I have not given lessons before, but always helped others in class when they couldn't answer a question and also frequently help my 13 year old brother with his maths homework. As a result of this, I helped prepare him for his school's entrance exams and achieve a grade 6 in his last end of year test.
I studied Maths and Additional Maths at school and received high grades in both - getting 1 mark off a Grade 9 in the Maths GCSE. As I have recently taken these courses, I know the updated content needed and new methods of calculation expected to be used. I am very hardworking and achieved 8s and 9s in all of my GCSE subjects, so I have learnt the skills required for getting the top marks in any exam.

I am a first year A Level student, and will teach all ages up to 16 - especially GCSE content. I can teach Maths but also Additional Maths if the student has chosen to take this course as well.
First, I would review what the student already understands and is confident with, so that I don't teach them something they already know. Then I would get them to highlight the areas that they just want going over, and then the things they really struggle with. I would then make a plan of what topic I would teach each session based on their response to this.
I would alternate the new things that they may struggle with, and the easier topics they might need some revision on, so that they don't get tired of one or the other. For each topic I would get them to do some practice questions - as to learn maths, you have to do. These would prepare them for the sorts of things they would have to answer in an exam, and let me know if they are fully understanding the topic.
As a tutor, I would try and make the lessons as straightforward and hopefully as enjoyable as possible. I understand that not everyone learns in the same way, so I would also be open to hearing how the student would prefer me to teach the content. The typical way I would go about teaching a lesson, is start with a few practice questions on a topic they already know, to prepare them and get their brains thinking.
Then I would start by giving a basic explanation of the new topic, and go through some worked examples. After this, I would give them some questions to do on their own to check their understanding. If they completed these without a problem, I would move on to more difficult areas of the topic, and if not I would go back over the basics to help them understand.

Molly is an amazing tutor! We went to the same school and I asked her to help me study for my maths GCSE as I'm in year 10. She always explains everything really clearly and makes it as engaging as possible. I've never really liked maths but she makes it a bit more interesting and is very dedicated to helping me learn. She is flexible with times as she now goes to college, so always tries her best to suit when I'm free. I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with their maths GCSE.
She’s a very good and helpful tutor.
I 100% recommend.Molly has been very useful for my maths gcse as she helped me understand the topics i wasnt sure on which helped me to pass my gcse, thanks Molly :)
