About Ben
I am half Brazilian, half British, and grew up in London, Rio de Janeiro and Sheffield. This experience left me with a lasting passion for other cultures and languages, inspiring me to take up Spanish. I speak a mixture of Portuguese and English with my family and have studied Spanish for the past 7 years, achieving a 9 at GCSE level, and an A* at A-Level. I am currently an undergrad student at the University of York, making me young enough to be approachable and relatable to students, but experienced enough to have the knowledge to teach others.

I can provide excellent support to students struggling with Spanish GCSE or A-Level (or simply those interested in learning Spanish). My lessons would be around 1 hour long, allowing enough time for 2 mock speaking exams and some additional learning. Once I have an idea of the ability of the student, I can tailor the lessons to their level. My main focus would be on developing fluency when speaking Spanish, a hurdle that many students struggle to overcome. I understand that some people would feel reluctant to hire a university student as a tutor, but I feel that my age is actually an advantage, as it makes it much easier to relate to students, and discern what they truly need to help them progress.
