About Edward
I’m an A-level music student passionate about my subject. Not a day goes by when I don't play, compose or listen to music. I have a genuine love for all things musical and an appreciation of the people, opportunities and experiences that have enriched my life through my involvement with music. For instance:
• 10+ years involvement with Hillingdon Music Service where I have progressed to playing in Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band and Brass Band, performing at venues including Cadogan Hall and 10 Downing Street.
• Playing as a guest musician for long the established ensembles of Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra and Harrow Concert Band.
• Performing as the pianist for numerous school productions and presentation evenings.
My current A-level studies focus on classical music and I have tuition for trumpet and piano, accomplished in both to ABRSM/Trinity grade 7 and I’m working towards grade 8 this year. I have been accomplished in Grade 5 Music Theory since 2023. My current personal passion is electronic music production, with 5 albums released.

I’m available to teach beginners and improvers, children to adults – basically anyone wanting to learn piano!
The early stages will help familiarise students with:
• the keyboard, its layout, the notes
• basic music theory – timing, rhythm, scales, etc
• posture at the piano
We can then progress to learning arrangements that consolidate theses early stages, allowing development to the next stage. There are many series of beginner books available that I can recommend, supporting both practical and theoretical learning between lessons.
Lessons are offered at my home on Exmouth Road, HA4 0UH on a Yamaha Clavinova CLP -645, un upright electronic instrument with a ‘Powerful sound and a superb wooden keyboard offering unprecedented levels of versatility to pianists of all abilities.’ – (concealed information)

I have known Edward for many years, and I have never known him without a passion for music and playing instruments. He has an incredible knowledge of musical theory and has recently started teaching me how to play piano (I’m heading toward grade 4). He is very well spoken and can explain ideas within music to a high level and will ensure that you can actually understand. As he has both unbelievable knowledge of the content AND the ability to teach the content to his student, this is what is what makes him a great tutor. I would highly recommended him.
