About Yuri
I am an a-level student with a predicted grade a* in maths, and received a 9 (top grade) in GCSE. I have been tutoring for 6 months now and I find it a really rewarding and enjoyable experience. I have taught mental maths and GCSE level maths. I applied to numerous schools during 11+ and got accepted into all of them, therefore I am able to give useful advice in order to prepare for 11+ exams, as well as any other exams.

As someone who has lots of experience being tutored maths as well as teaching maths myself, I have learnt that the best way to teach a student is in a comfortable and safe environment. Making mistakes and learning from them is the most important way to progress in any subject. For each lesson, I plan a very loose structure which gives me room to tailor the lesson to each student's strengths and weaknesses. I provide support for all of my students, as it gives them a positive outlook on the subject and help them to look forward to each lesson. A typical lesson would usually start with a discussion about what the student wants more help on, I always have worksheets provided with different difficulty levels so the student is always challenged and out of their comfort zone. If the student needs help with homework or didn't do as well on an exam, we can go into depth about ways to improve.
