About Ceren
My name is Ceren Simsek, I am currently 17 years of age and am looking to teach Mathematics (up to a GCSE level). Teaching others a subject I am passionate about is a practice I have grown to enjoy immensely.
My one of my favourite aspects of teaching is being able to raise the confidence levels of my tutees, so they can feel more at ease tackling more challenging areas, where they're able to suggest new ideas based on their newfound understanding of the topic.
Mathematics is a subject that doesn't come easily to everyone, it can require guidance, but most importantly time and practice. I will gladly provide this guidance in an effort to help propel them forward in their mathematical abilities.

Our sessions will follow this format:
We first discuss the areas where the support is needed.
I explain my understanding of the topic and we establish a communication to get to the root of what you find difficult, if you can’t articulate it already.
Once we’ve established an understanding on their part we can move on to practice problems, this is where they can take the new skill you’ve just learnt and learn to apply it correctly.
Once you feel more fluent and confident with the material you will be asked to consolidate your knowledge throughout the week, and at the beginning of our next session a question regarding the topic we had done in the previous week will be a sort of starter.
It is necessary that being tutored will allow my students to eventually feel more confident in articulating their ideas and also communicating the areas in which they struggling.
I want to create a comfortable learning environment where mistakes are welcomed and are challenges to be overcome.
Lessons are typically 1 hour, which is enough time to establish and put a new skill into practice, however I will emphasis the importance of looking over the content regularly outside of lessons in their own time so their understanding can be prolonged.
I’m currently looking to teach up to GCSE level maths and further maths. This includes the maths for KS1(aged 5-7), KS2(aged 7-11), KS3(aged 11-14) and KS4(14-16).
I am currently mentoring in a mentoring program for A-Level Maths within my school, and in the past have held a Maths Club for secondary school students who needed help with KS3 content.
