About Abia
Hello! :) My name is Abia and I’m currently in year 13 studying for my A-levels (Maths, biology and health and social care). I was once a child that was really struggling with maths and did not have anyone really to support me fully, which is why I want to support you as best as I can. I love travelling to different parts of the world (cannot wait for summer) and I also really enjoy playing badminton. As cliché as it sounds this time will never come back and i’m sure you want the best grades for yourself. I grew my confidence as I surrounded myself with people that were confident, my teachers in year 11 were really inspiring and allowed me to grow personally as well as professionally.

I aim to give the student a topic and ask them to think about all the things they remember from it. This method of blurting would allow students as well as tutors to identify where the weaker areas of a topic are and how they can combat them. I spend an hour on a lesson and will aim to teach individuals under or at the age of 16. I have had 10 GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) with a 6 in Maths and a 6 in English language and literature. I have been tutoring younger struggling individuals for 2 years and they’re grades have significantly improved. I aim to make the subject slightly more fun for the student by carrying out engaging conversations with them. It is often difficult for a student to understand the subject they’re being taught because the teacher is not able to help every student in a class. Some students can also be afraid of asking questions within a class environment, so tutoring would be ideal for individuals that are struggling.
