About Bernard
I am a phyics bsc student at KCL. Im also an ex-shooting guard for Brixton topcats U18 team.
I have 6 months of tutoring experience in mathematics. My teaching style focuses on implicit learning which focuses on learning through problem-solving, where the student first attempts the problem, and then learns the necessary concepts to solve it. Implicit learning has the following benefits.
Better retention over time with less skill loss than explicit.

Before the lesson, I read through the exam boards requirements, this allows me to pose questions and structure lessons in such a manner that each concept builds on the last. I focus heavily on exam practice, as it is a tried and true method for helping students to achieve highly on exams.
I enjoy tutoring because each student is different. I aim to attempt to make every lesson count without overloading them. Since most come straight from school, I find they respond more to a relaxed, supportive atmosphere than a strict one. If the student likes basketball, I am happy to talk about nba and draft prospects at the end of the lesson.
