About Zoe
Hello, I am a current A level student studying mathematics and further mathematics at sixth form as well as physics and computer science. My motivation for putting myself forward is primarily to learn more about different insights into maths shown by working through problems with my tutees, as well as to improve as a mathematician. As a result, money is only an added incentive and I can be contacted to discuss tutoring for reduced prices if required. I have previously volunteered at my senior school to tutor younger students and also have a younger brother currently in year 7 so I am no stranger to helping with homework! I was born in Singapore and lived in Hong Kong for the better part of my childhood so could possibly deliver lessons partly in Cantonese. During my time at senior school, I founded the STEM committee where we aimed to bring these subjects to the younger years and engage them with fun activities such as a fair we put on in partnership with the eco committee.

As an A level student, I believe that mentoring GCSE or primary school students would be most appropriate. In my lessons, I aim to grasp a student's paradigm so that I can best lead them to make links of their own volition. I think that the best way to learn maths is to truly understand it, instead of memorising equations. In this way, I hope to be able to inspire young mathematicians by sparking even the tiniest insights where they may finally see where something has come from, embedding the concept in their memory for much longer than cramming before an exam (which I must admit I have done before).
