About Essien
My name is Mary, and I am a trained Geologist who has been teaching professionally for four years. I am passionate about two things in life; Geology, and the teaching of it. I have a BSc., two Masters' Degrees, and about to begin my Ph.D. studies in Geological Sciences. I have worked in academia for the past 4 years as a Graduate Research Assistant and as an Assistant Lecturer where I have had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students.

I structure my classes to be graphic and interactive. I am interested in the ideas, thoughts, and opinions of my students about the subject, and I encourage them to share these freely as it enriches the learning experience both ways. A typical class will involve presentation slides, pictures, and videos to illustrate critical points. My services are best suited to undergraduates, high school students, and anyone interested in the subject.

Essien is really detailed with her teaching. She really breaks down complex concepts and make them seem very easy. She tutored me on physical geology as a fresher in the University and really helped me understand the fundamental principles of Geology. I passed that course in flying colours because of her teaching as I was way above my peers. She is always punctual and also very friendly. I really recommend her services especially to first year students who are just starting out!
Essien is a very knowledgeable tutor. She has an in-depth understanding of her subject . She is very patient, calm and breaks everyting down easily for the student to understand. I am very glad I found her. Totally recommended!
