About Fintan
I am a current 3rd year student at the University of Limerick studying to become a Math and PE teacher and I have a genuine passion for helping students improve their confidence and ability in Math.
I achieved a H1 in Leaving Certificate Math and have a strong understanding of the course and the standard required to achieve excellent results. Through my teacher training and school placement, I have also gained valuable experience working with students and explaining Math concepts in a clear and straightforward way
Outside of college, I am heavily involved in sport, which has taught me the importance of discipline, consistency, and setting goals. I bring the same mindset to my tutoring and aim to help every student make steady progress.

My approach to tutoring is centred around making Maths simple, understandable and enjoyable. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, focusing on the areas they find most challenging while also building their confidence and problem-solving skills.
As I am currently studying to become a Maths teacher, I have a strong interest in teaching and experience working with students in a secondary-school environment. I achieved a H1 in Leaving Certificate Maths, giving me a strong understanding of the curriculums and the skills required to perform well in exams.
My lessons typically last 60 minutes and are fully online. I use clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of practice questions to help students understand each topic. I also place a strong emphasis on exam-style questions and exam technique, particularly for students preparing for Junior Cycle or Leaving Certificate exams.
A typical lesson will begin by identifying what the student already understands, before working through any areas of difficulty. We then practice questions together, gradually allowing the student to work more independently. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and I adapt the pace depending on their ability and confidence.
My lessons are suitable for students from Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate students at both Higher and Ordinary Level.
My aim is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and improving their Maths skills.
