About Caleb
I am Caleb Opeloyemi, a qualified Yoruba Language Teacher and the founder of The Teacher Writer.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Yoruba and an NCE in Christian Religious Studies and Yoruba. I have several years of classroom teaching experience and have taught Yoruba to learners at different levels.
As a Yoruba teacher, I particularly enjoy helping people who want to reconnect with the language of their family, communicate better with Yoruba-speaking relatives, or develop a deeper connection with Yoruba culture.
I am patient, approachable and committed to making Yoruba easier and more enjoyable to learn.

Want to learn Yoruba and finally feel confident using it in real conversations?
My Yoruba lessons are practical, friendly and designed to help you use the language naturally, not simply memorise words.
Whether you are completely new to Yoruba, understand some Yoruba but struggle to speak, or want to reconnect with the language of your family and heritage, I will help you progress step by step.
Lessons can include:

I teach both adults and children and adapt each lesson to the learner's age, level and personal goals.
You do not need any previous knowledge of Yoruba. We can start from the basics and gradually build your confidence.
My goal is to help you move beyond simply understanding Yoruba to actually using it with confidence.

My lessons are personalised to your level, goals and learning pace.
The price covers a one-hour private Yoruba lesson focused on practical progress. Depending on your goals, we may work on speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence building, reading, writing, listening and Yoruba cultural expressions.
Beginners are welcome, and I also help learners who already understand Yoruba but want to become more confident speaking it.
I also welcome children and adults who want to learn Yoruba or reconnect with the language of their family and heritage.
