• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  At the age of 13, I developed a strong interest in drawing and spent most of my time creating artwork and designing board games. To my surprise, my neighborhood friends loved playing my games so much that they asked me to teach them how to play and draw.
  After graduating from high school, I applied to become an English tutor. Earning some pocket money helped me cover part of my school fees. Teaching is not only a natural skill for me but also feels like my destiny.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  I used to use a website called "Interpals" which was recommended by a classmate in high school. Since then, I've had the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. Many users commented on my photos and showed interest in my country's culture. This gave me a fantastic chance to introduce them to various customs and traditions, especially the Vietnamese language.
  
  I discovered that teaching Vietnamese is much more rewarding and enjoyable than teaching English. Every time I hear a foreigner pronounce a Vietnamese word correctly, it brings me great joy. Moreover, Vietnamese is my mother tongue, and I take immense pride in my heritage. I want to help others learn and appreciate this beautiful language and its culture.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  Tutoring makes me feel valued and responsible. I take pride in being accountable for my students' success. To me, tutoring is about mentoring and supporting students as they work towards their goals.
  
  What makes me a superprof? I believe it's my creativity and my willingness to be different. I enjoy taking charge in a supportive manner, and I love helping my students realize just how smart they are. Having once been a slow learner myself, I understand the frustrations that come with it. In the past, teachers would often become mad at me. Now, I've learned to be understanding and patient. I've realized that when you're angry and impatient, your students won't absorb anything.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  My mother has always been my guiding light in life. Growing up in challenging circumstances, she built a successful life for herself and our family against all odds. Her resilience and determination continue to inspire me. Even after suffering a stroke that affected her left hand, she maintains a positive outlook and always sees the bright side of things. She shared a valuable life secret with me: "When everything falls apart and no one else can help (not even yourself), take a moment to pray."

• What are your keys to success?

  The keys to my success tend to change over time. Currently, I find myself relying more on my natural competence, which has been nurtured and supported by the kind people around me. I believe in myself, I can achieve success. If I don't believe in myself, others won't either.
